Attend the Rural!
The 2024 National Rural Institute will be a hybrid conference from June 9-13.
Attendees will be able to earn up to 2.1 CEUs for the in person conference, with additional CEUs available for those who watch recorded sessions on demand.
The Rural's Schedule
The Rural has three types of sessions: Plenary sessions (or keynotes), four-hour tracks, and one-hour special topics.
Tracks take up a majority of the day Monday-Wednesday. They provide a close look at a topic in four one-hour parts. These parts are designed to build on each other, so while it is not required, attendees are encouraged to attend all four parts of a track.
Special Topics are one-hour stand alone sessions scheduled for the end of the day Monday-Wednesday, as well as Thursday morning.
Menomonie, WI
Menomonie is located in Western Wisconsin. The nearest airports are the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP) or the Eau Claire airport (EAU).
There is a shuttle from MSP to Menomonie, though conference attendees will need to arrange transportation in town. We strongly suggest pre-booking in-town transportation, as there is minimal opportunity for rideshare within Menomonie.
On campus lodging is available at $25 per night and provides the best value for lodging at The Rural. Attendees staying on campus will have a private room with easy access to conference activities.
Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarships are available thanks to the generosity of the Scaife Family Foundation and the Green Bay Packers Foundation. Scholarships are designed to make the Institute affordable for those who could not otherwise attend.
The priority deadline for scholarships is February 15, 2024.
